Hi there! My name is Rosie Deane, and I am the founder of What on Earth?
Back in the 1980s, when I did my first degree in Chemical Engineering, I became aware of global warming, but I then embarked on a career in IT and presumed that someone else was ‘taking care of it’.
How wrong I was!
Thirty years later, it dawned on me that humanity and the planet on which we exist were reaching a crisis point and I asked - "what on earth have we done?"
This led me to pursue a Master's degree in Sustainable Development, where I deepened my knowledge of environmental issues and sustainability practices, and I am now committed to using my skills to make a positive impact on the environment.
Throughout my career, I have gained extensive experience in project management, overseeing complex projects from inception to completion, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of stakeholders. As I continued to grow professionally, I became increasingly passionate about sustainability and its critical role in shaping the future of our planet.
What on Earth are we doing?
Recently, I have also had the opportunity to work on carbon footprinting projects, where I helped organisations understand their carbon emissions and identify opportunities to reduce their environmental impact. I believe that my background in project management, IT, and sustainability uniquely positions me to drive meaningful change and contribute to a more sustainable future.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me, and I look forward to discussing potential collaboration opportunities with you!
